My son is almost four and he has autism. He really loves this app.
I like it & the boys (8 & 4 yrs.) seem to enjoy it. However when you get all the aphids and the caterpillar starts counting out loud it doesnt match the number highlighted on the caterpillar on the screen.
It only skip counts by two. I wanted my son to practice counting by 5s and 10s. There is a glitch in the game. If it worked properly, I would have easily given it a five star rating.
This is a really cute app! The butterfly reward system is great, and my daughter loves watching the caterpillar climb the tree and grow! Catching the flies and moving them might be difficult for small or select special needs kids (my daughter cannot do it due to motor delay), but the counting is clear and is fun and educational even if an adult does it for the child.
This is a good app with graphics that make it very appealing. I would easily rate it four or five stars if it had settings I could change so that my child could practice something specific. If I want her to practice counting from fifty to a hundred, I cannot do that...we are always having to start over at one. Give me settings like that and I could easily recommend this to friends.
I love this app. The students in my special education classroom enjoy this app because the graphics are well done and not distracting. Very easy to learn and provides skills practice in an engaging manner.
I like the app for the most part. I really liked the way you feed the bugs. It helps emphasize number order. However...when the caterpillar counts the numbers are highlighted in the opposite order. For example when the caterpillar says 1 the number 10 is highlighted...very confusing for children learning to identify and recognize numbers. I purchased this app to preview it for use with my kindergartners, but I wont end up using it with them because of this problem. Kind of wish I could have my money back.
This is a great concept, however, it is too much in level 1 to go all the way to 100. How about a level with 1-10, another with 1-20, and another with 1-100? It would be give each kid more ability and confidence.
Not worth the price.
